Note: In 2017, Easter is April 16th and Pentecost is June 4th.
EVERYONE ON EARTH is affected by spiritual energies during the Easter season. The second greatest influx of spiritual energies onto the planet occurs in this cycle, overshadowed in intensity only by the Christmas-season influx.
Easter is a time when many are able to progress further in their spiritual unfoldment, manifestations and powers. As with all cycles of spiritual-energy influx, it also can be a time of detrimental experiences for those who are not interested in spiritual life or who step back from it. For them it may be a time when they remain idle and nonproductive in their spiritual development, or actually backslide due to a rejection of available spiritual opportunities.
But for those who are aware of its spiritual meaning and implications, Easter is a time of special significance. For it marks one of the most critical and challenging periods in Sananda’s incarnation as Jesus of Nazareth.
Unfortunately, many people in the orthodox Christian faith view Easter as a period of much unhappiness and sadness. In the orthodox understanding of Easter — the time of Jesus’ crucifixion, followed by his resurrection — too many dwell on or overemphasize the crucifixion; particularly during the weeks prior to Palm Sunday, which is the anniversary of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. It seems that only a short time, Easter Sunday itself, is devoted to contemplation of the resurrection.
As Sananda has channeled through Nada-Yolanda, the Christ should be taken off the cross, in people’s consciousness. For this is a time of looking forward to eternal life, to the return of Sananda as Jesus of Nazareth, to the resurrection of each one of us and all persons on Earth. We cannot do this if we dwell on something that happened two thousand years ago at a time of sadness.
Think what it does to Sananda when millions of people on Earth each Easter season project such thoughts of misery and grief to commemorate the unhappy event of the crucifixion. This is not what Sananda wants, nor is this what we should be dwelling on in our lives. It has the subtle effect of impinging and imprinting deeply on the individual and the race consciousness the belief or the expectation that before we can experience our own resurrection and ascension into the light body we must go through horrendous periods of suffering, misery and grief. It is a cosmic law that what we dwell on tends to manifest in our lives. Like attracts like.
Therefore, project the thought to all light workers, and through them to all people of Earth, that we dwell on the resurrection, on the fact that Jesus is living and does not have to be put on the cross every Easter, year after year. From this point forward, dwell on the reality of his resurrection. This is where we need to put our emphasis.
Personal Symbols of Easter
To those of metaphysical understanding, this particular episode in the life of Jesus of Nazareth has a deeper significance, for we are able to interpret it in terms of our own crucifixion and resurrection. In the events of Jesus’ life we see symbols of experiences we each must face in our own consciousness as we cross out old patterns of the mortal self and resurrect into the light body of the I Am Self.
For example, the Last Supper symbolizes the mortal consciousness in communion with, or thinking about, the spiritual thoughts and powers of the high Self consciousness. It symbolizes that time when we make a reevaluation of our disciples, or our spiritual thoughts. We also anticipate the time when there must be a crucifixion of our lower aspects, because some of the powers we have used in a mortal way can and will betray us. We are betrayed even by some of our religious thoughts and ideas which are not bound to or founded on spiritual truth.
So, we foresee our time of betrayal. This occurs within each of us in the mortal consciousness. It is the betrayal of the Christ Self through not adhering to the Christ Self, the Christ guidance, the Christ role and mission for which we have incarnated on Earth and elsewhere for many lifetimes.
Betrayal leads to crucifixion when our mortal consciousness goes through the ofttimes horrendous experience of giving up much of what we thought physical life and expression should be, including our error thoughts and ideas and attachments. This need not mean giving up the actual physical life. Yet, we must realize we are not here primarily to live in a physical world, but to complete our education in a physical dimension so we may continue into our spiritual resurrection, stepping forth into the light body and the manifestation of our Christ consciousness.
Therefore, we must cross out or crucify much that the mortal consciousness is based on and from which it has developed in this lifetime and past lifetimes. We must be willing to give up those mortal aspects even though such may not be easy. But if we look ahead to the resurrection, knowing that it naturally follows the crucifixion or the crossing-out of mortal consciousness, then we can express more fully the high Self consciousness. Knowing the resurrection is to follow, we will be more willing to give up our mortal expression and to step forth into the awareness and the powers of our I Am Self.
There are other events surrounding Jesus’ crucifixion that we can interpret metaphysically and apply to our spiritual growth. For example, according to biblical accounts there was a great earthquake that rent the countryside after Jesus’ crucifixion, opening many tombs from which apparitions of the dead were seen to come out into the streets.
Metaphysically this symbolizes the moment when we truly have crossed out the mortal consciousness. At that moment there is an earthquake in our consciousness. Tombs of our mind are opened to let out those mortal thoughts which have been dead and buried. They are lifted out of our subconscious and exposed to our conscious mind for us to see, to reevaluate, to put to rest.
During such times of crucifixion there is a series of earthquakes within our emotional and mental bodies. But we must pass through that and not stop too long to scrutinize thoughts that come up from the past as the dead. Let these thoughts and burdens be lifted from us. Let us push on to the resurrection, concentrating on the new life before us in Spirit.
Special Time for Mark-Age
Aside from the importance of Jesus’ crucifixion–resurrection, the Easter cycle also is of special significance to Mark-Age. For Mark-Age as an organizational name and business concept was conceived on the physical plane by me during the Easter season of 1949. Further insights into the spiritual nature and basis of Mark-Age were not revealed until the mid-1950s. (See Autobiography of a Prophet, Appendix B.)
Around 1955-56, I became involved in metaphysical understanding and interpretation of the Holy Bible, and I began to place emphasis on resurrection at the Easter season. Each Easter from that time on I began to concentrate, to visualize and to prepare myself for stepping into the light body and demonstrating Christ powers on Earth.
In 1960, after Yolanda and I had met each other and had established Mark-Age in Miami, Florida, we began to do this together. Each Easter was a special time for us. During the Easter seasons of the early 1960s, Sananda asked us to meditate on the inner revelations and the deeper meanings of his life as Jesus as it had unfolded during that particular cycle two thousand years ago.
We ask that you do the same now. Though it is helpful if you know the metaphysical interpretations, it is not necessary. For as you read and study the biblical scriptures pertaining to that period of Jesus’ life, you will be given greater understanding of it. You will see more clearly how it pertains to your life. This is particularly true if you also study the many channelings through Yolanda that were given regarding the Easter season and the crucifixion–resurrection ceremony. (See Index of MAPP* to Aquarius: *Mark Age Period & Program under “Easter,” “crucifixion,” “resurrection” and “Jesus of Nazareth.”)
This Easter season we are looking forward to new developments in the hierarchal program. In recent years there has been a great increase in the spiritual receptivity of the mass consciousness. This Easter cycle, beginning with Lent and lasting through Pentecost, can be extremely beneficial not only for your individual growth and your unfoldment of spiritual powers and talents but also for awakening the masses and bringing the program to their attention and acceptance. There is an abundance of spiritual opportunities for renewed growth into I Am awareness at this time.
Visualize these positive thoughts of the Easter resurrection reaching out and touching everyone on Earth and bringing about a catalytic action within mass consciousness. See the Easter cycle as a time not only for crossing out mortal thoughts and old ideas that you no longer need, but also for dwelling on the resurrection, for stepping forth into the Christ-aware state, for anchoring further the manifestation of your light body through your physical vehicle. By consciously desiring, accepting, understanding and preparing for the resurrection, it increasingly can take effect.
As Easter Sunday passes, let us not forget the promises for our personal resurrection, for greater unfoldment of our spiritual powers and awarenesses. Carry these hopes and desires throughout the entire Easter season until Pentecost. As we do this we will find it easier to carry these thoughts of resurrection throughout this year and each succeeding year, always rising into higher consciousness and understanding.
Let this be a special Easter for you, one that you can look back upon and see as a major step forward, even a turning point, in your individual resurrection as a spiritual I Am being. Two thousand years ago Sananda as Jesus set the pattern for mankind’s resurrection into the fourth dimensional light body. This is to be our emphasis and personal demonstration now and in years to come.
Therefore, place much less emphasis on the crucifixion, whether it be that of Jesus or of the mass consciousness or of your mortal self. Dwell now on the resurrected consciousness of the Christ Self. Look forward to manifesting the resurrected form of your etheric or light body.
